A partial safety refresh, meaning grab bars, a fold-down seat and fixture swaps, typically runs $2,500 to $6,500. A curbless or walk-in shower conversion runs $12,000 to $16,000. A full accessible remodel keeping the layout runs $25,000 to $30,000, and a down-to-the-studs rebuild $30,000 to $40,000. You get an exact written price at the visit.
It depends on how the room gets used. A walk-in shower, especially a curbless one, is easiest for stepping or rolling in and for anyone who cannot lower themselves into a tub. A walk-in tub suits you if you genuinely want a deep soak and can sit down to bathe comfortably. We will tell you which one we think fits rather than which one costs more.
A comfort-height toilet is a taller one you do not have to drop down onto, and a comfort-height vanity is set to work whether you are sitting or standing. With non-slip flooring they take most of the daily strain out of the room, and they are the cheapest part of the job.
No, and that is the part we care most about. Grout-free walls in a finish you choose, a clean fold-down seat, frameless or black-framed glass, and fixtures in matte black, brushed nickel or bronze. It should read as a good bathroom that happens to be safe.
