Shower remodeling

Shower remodeling in Colorado Springs

Four kinds of shower job, all built in solid surface by our own crew.

Which shower job do you need?

Four shower jobs, plus the material we build them all in. Start with the one closest to yours.

Stillwater Bath and Shower remodels showers in Colorado Springs four ways: a one-day tub-to-shower conversion, a custom walk-in shower, a tub or shower replacement, or a new surround and glass enclosure. All four use solid surface walls, with no grout. A conversion usually takes a day and typically runs $12,000 to $16,000. Every job gets a written price at a free in-home visit.

One-day tub-to-shower conversion. We take out a tub you no longer use and fit a new base and solid surface walls, usually in one day, because there is no mortar bed or grout that has to cure overnight. It typically costs $12,000 to $16,000 in Colorado Springs. Read about the one-day tub to shower conversion.

Custom walk-in shower. An open shower you step into rather than climb over, with a low-step or curbless entry and a bench, niches and framed or frameless glass where they suit the room. Most take a few days to about a week, and they cost more than a straight conversion because of the glass and the base work. See walk-in showers in Colorado Springs.

Tub or shower replacement. When a tub or shower is cracked, stained or leaking, we take it out, fix whatever we find behind it, and fit a new one with a watertight surround. Most replacements take a few days. See bathtub and shower replacement.

Surround and glass enclosure. The surround is the waterproof wall around the tub or shower, and the enclosure is the glass that closes it off. Most jobs involve both, and we fit framed and frameless glass. See shower enclosures and tub surrounds.

Solid surface walls on every one. Each of these jobs uses molded solid surface panels instead of tile and grout, so there is nothing to reseal and nothing to scrub. The material has its own page: solid surface showers.

Choosing

Which shower remodel fits your bathroom?

  • A tub nobody uses: the one-day conversion is the fastest, lowest-cost route to a shower you can walk into.
  • An open shower built around the room, with a bench and glass: a custom walk-in shower.
  • A tub you want to keep, but it is cracked, stained or leaking: a tub or shower replacement.
  • A sound tub or base, but tired walls or glass: a new surround, an enclosure, or both.
  • Someone who finds the tub wall hard to step over: a conversion or walk-in shower with a low-step or curbless entry, a bench, and blocking in the wall for grab bars.

If someone in the house still takes baths, it makes sense to keep one tub, and we will tell you so at the visit.

Why solid surface

Why is every Stillwater shower built in solid surface?

Grout is where a tiled shower usually starts to fail. It is porous, it stains, it needs resealing, and when it fails it fails invisibly, behind the wall. Solid surface removes that surface entirely: the walls go in as molded panels with no grout lines at all.

Solid surface is a dense composite, not a thin acrylic shell, so it feels solid rather than hollow and wears better day to day. We are an authorized UpHome dealer. Materials carry a lifetime warranty, and our workmanship is covered for 3 years.

Quality company - responsive when asked questions, encouraged personal choices. Never felt pressured to choose a specific product. Specifically appreciated their willingness to make adjustments- for My project the willingness to do a work through with the tub - results are great. Taylor & Steve were on schedule. Really appreciated that they kept to the schedule (done in 3 days!) and were always concerned about leaving the worksite clean when they left for the day. Follow up was great and made sure the project was complete. Highly recommend & will definitely use them for the next bathroom remodel!

Frequently asked questions

How much does a shower remodel cost in Colorado Springs?

A one-day tub-to-shower conversion typically costs $12,000 to $16,000 in Colorado Springs. A custom walk-in shower costs more because of the glass and the base work, and a full bathroom remodel typically runs $25,000 to $30,000 keeping the same layout, or $30,000 to $40,000 for a full gut. You get the exact number in writing at a free in-home visit.

A tub-to-shower conversion usually takes one day. A tub or shower replacement takes a few days, and a custom walk-in shower takes a few days to about a week, depending on the glass, the base and anything found behind the old unit. A full bathroom remodel usually takes 2 to 4 weeks.

Both leave you with a shower you can step straight into. The one-day conversion is the faster, lower-cost version: a new base and solid surface walls, usually fitted in a day. A custom walk-in shower is built around the room, with options such as a curbless entry, a bench, niches and frameless glass, and it takes longer.
